As an Omnissa Platinum Partner, we’re thrilled to announce the Limited Availability release of the new Horizon Cloud Service for vSphere! This is an exciting development for customers who want to optimize their DaaS deployment goals such as remote location proximity far from partner datacenters, business continuity and disaster (BC/DR) response and multi-cloud workload optimization.

This first-of-its-kind on-premises capacity provider features thin edge architecture, allowing our team to deploy and manage desktops and applications across hybrid environments, view and manage our customers’ inventory globally, create cross-cloud pools and entitlements, centralize access control and authorization for management, unify access for end users, and access public API for automation. The Edge appliance performs additional functions such as sending session telemetry data to Omnissa’s intelligence analytics service and can facilitate True SSO for end user logins.

As your Managed Service Provider (MSP), we can actively monitor and manage all deployed environments with ease while giving you flexibility of infrastructure type. If you’ve been wanting a cloud-managed DaaS solution that extends to your on-premises vCenter infrastructure, this is it.

How it works

Traditionally, in order for Horizon Cloud Service to connect to vSphere, it had to do so through a Horizon On-Prem environment. With the Edge appliance, the Horizon Cloud Service can connect to vSphere directly. This reduces the number of management servers you need for a Horizon environment that leverages vSphere capacity.

Additionally, if you already have Horizon capacity in the Horizon Cloud Service through Horizon Cloud on Azure, you will now be able to see your vSphere capacity alongside it behind a single pane of glass. This is very exciting as it is a pretty dramatic advancement toward a cloud-first approach for Horizon.

If you’re ready to simplify DaaS implementation, lower cost of maintenance and manage multiple sites and capacity types from a single console, contact us for more information and a detailed overview. Because this feature is in Limited Availability, signups are limited so please contact us immediately if you would like to explore this further.
