Well, not ALL HTC devices, and in the UK first. HTC UK’s Facebook page just posted a brief list of its devices that will be receiving ice cream sandwich (ICS) in the near term. This is good news for those using MDM to manage any number of HTC Android devices, since many of the whiz-bang features of the major mobile device management platforms only work on devices with Ice Cream Sandwich and above. Just the fact that there is a “device deployment” list, however, highlights the terrible issue of fragmentation experienced by Android devices and is one of the main reasons Android is having a tougher time penetrating businesses serious about security.
