On Thursday evening, September 10, TechOrchard held its first annual Mobile Brew event to rave reviews. Approximately 65 attendees from top Kansas City companies such as Husch Blackwell, KCP&L, Black & Veatch and WaterOne joined us at Boulevard Brewery to share insights, tips and trends regarding enterprise mobility.
The event kicked off as Ryan Weber, president of KCnext, gave a thoughtful introduction about how Kansas City companies are looking for ways to stay relevant while protecting their critical assets through the evolution of workplace technology as well as our city. Then, TechOrchard CEO Phil Poje addressed a panel of speakers each currently using an enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform as part of a comprehensive mobile strategy about their experiences. Panelists included TechOrchard’s VP of Mobile Technology Randy Crenshaw; Mike Epperson, Security Compliance Manager at H&R Block; Dustin Burns, Information Technology Director at McCownGordon Construction; and Matt Harmon, Senior Systems Specialist at Burns & McDonnell.

Panelists shared thoughts on the challenges their organizations have faced in folding mobility into their overall business strategy. They also provided ideas on everything from employee buy-in and training to security best practices and policies. Attendees in the audience were able to ask questions and generate additional conversation about how they can better leverage mobility moving forward. Immediately following the conclusion of the panel, employees from our sponsor companies took the stage to share a little about their businesses. Sponsors included Verizon, DSI, AirWatch, TekSolutions, Umbrella Managed Systems and 1102 Grand. Door prizes were given away to four lucky winners, and, amidst the networking, attendees enjoyed delectable appetizers and local craft brews to top off the evening.
Due to the popularity of the event, TechOrchard will plan to bring Mobile Brew back in 2016. If you had the opportunity to attend and have any outstanding questions that weren’t answered, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or shoot us an email. If you weren’t able to attend, be on the lookout for an invite as we expand this event next year to help more companies harness the power of mobility in the workplace.
