The Tech Orchard team made the pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the VMworld conference again this year. We were excited to see VMware’s continued focus on UEM and the future of the digital workspace. One of the biggest announcements this year was the official release of a much-anticipated co-management tool that provides a simple way to transition from SCCM, a legacy PCLM tool, to Workspace ONE Modern Management.
Microsoft redesigned Windows 10 as a mobile operating system and can now be updated and managed the same as any other mobile device. AirLift is a web-based application that creates a mapping of SCCM Collections to Smart Groups in Workspace ONE and allows you to selectively choose which workloads to migrate. You can also use AirLift to create an enrollment package in SCCM that will automatically enroll your devices into Workspace ONE.
AirLift is a passive server-side connector that continuously maintains a synchronized connection between Workspace ONE and SCCM and allows you to co-manage these systems and migrate at your pace. This exciting new tool is readily available to customers and is poised to streamline traditionally high-pain PC management workloads to a more cost-efficient and secure cloud-based modern management model.
If you weren’t able to attend VMworld, you can still check out the “replay” sessions and keynotes, which are available via the VMworld On-Demand video library.
